PC requirements

Can your PC run Drawquarium?

The listed minimum and recommended specifications are identical, which is unusual and worth understanding. Here are the official numbers, a browser check, and the parts the spec sheet does not tell you.

Windows 10 64-bit GTX 1060 / RX 580 8 GB RAM 700 MB

Official requirements

Both columns below come directly from the Steam store page. Minimum and recommended are the same, so there is no published “high settings” target. That usually means the developer expects a single performance profile, not that the game is equally light on every machine.

Browser compatibility check

Can this PC run Drawquarium?

This reads only what your browser exposes. It cannot see your graphics card model reliably, so it gives a partial answer — never a guarantee.

Press “Run the check” to inspect this browser’s reported operating system, memory and CPU core count.

A “pass” means your browser reports enough for the listed requirement, not that the game will hit a particular frame rate. The final check is the free demo on your own machine.

How to read these specs

The GPU is the real gate

A GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580-class desktop graphics card is the listed baseline. It is not a high-end card today, but it is far above integrated laptop graphics. If your PC has Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon integrated graphics or an older mobile GPU, the listed minimum may be out of reach even if the CPU and RAM look fine.

The store lists “6 GB VRAM” next to both GPUs. The RX 580 also shipped in 4 GB and 8 GB versions, so the spec is describing a class of card rather than a precise model. Check the actual card in Task Manager, not the marketing name on the laptop lid.

The CPU and RAM are modest

An i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 1600 with 8 GB RAM is a reasonable 2017-era gaming baseline. A modern budget CPU will generally be fine. 8 GB is the minimum for the whole system, not just the game; if Windows is already using most of it, close background apps before playing.

Storage is small, but saves are not the install

700 MB is the install size. Your aquariums, drawings and journal entries need space too, though the exact save size is not published. Leaving a few gigabytes free on the Windows drive is sensible for any game that autosaves and keeps backups.

Wallpaper Mode is a continuous workload

A short drawing session and an animated desktop running all day are different. The spec sheet does not separate them. If you plan to use Wallpaper Mode on a laptop, test battery life and fan noise in the demo before committing. Our Wallpaper Mode guide covers this in detail.

Laptop and Steam Deck notes

Many laptops have a discrete GPU that is only used when the laptop is plugged in and set to performance mode. Check Windows’ graphics settings and your GPU vendor’s control panel if the game runs poorly on battery. A “GTX 1060 laptop” is not the same chip as a desktop GTX 1060, even though the name is similar.

Steam Deck compatibility is not rated on the store page. Drawquarium is a Windows title with a desktop wallpaper mode, and no controller or handheld verification has been published. Do not assume it will run well on Deck until Valve or the developer says so.

Mac, Linux and mobile

Steam lists Windows only. macOS and Linux are not supported, and there is no official mobile version. The similar-sounding Drawarium web product is not the same thing; see the name comparison.
